I recently learned how to make cards, using Adobe XD. Actually, truth be told, I recently learned what exactly was a card. I mean, I have seen and used a gazillion of them over the years that I have spent surfing the web. I just did not know what they were called, and now that I do, I have to say that I enjoyed the process very much.
I always criticize myself for not being very creative, but I rarely look at the positive skill sets that I do possess. Due to the fact that I make so many mistakes, as I am learning to use new software applications, by the time I finish a project I know the program fairly well. This happened with my card project.
For my assignment, I had to create cards for my future “pretend” cafe, called the Stab and Strangle Cafe. I previously created a logo and branding card with a color palette for my cafe and now, I have to make cards for it as well. Check out the screenshot of my cards. Do you like the colors that I chose? As you are studying it, pay special attention to the left sidebar where my layers are displayed.
Layers? You say, what are layers? Well, since you asked, when you create a project in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., as you add various elements to the project, those items are arranged in layers on the artboard. But the thing that makes the layers so magical is that you can name, organize and lock them. Is that not the greatest thing since sliced bread? It just makes the analytical side of my brain tingle with delight.
Anyway, I hope that you are enjoying my musings regarding my return to academic life, after a pretty long hiatus.
I plan to share more with you, in the future.
Cheers,
Belinda
